Days Bay is on the eastern side of Wellington Harbour. It is easily reached by road, which follows the harbour shoreline, or by ferry.

Road travel time from Days Bay to:

• Wellington City 20 minutes
• Inter-island ferry terminal 20 minutes
• Airport 35 minutes

Ferry travel time from Days Bay to:

• Wellington CBD 20 minutes
• Matiu/Somes Island 10 minutes
• Wellington via Matiu/Somes Island 30 minutes

• Approaching Ngauranga interchange, turn left onto State Highway 2 and follow signs for Petone.
• Exit at the Petone over-ramp and follow signs to Seaview, Eastbourne, or Eastern Bays. The harbour will be visible on your right for much of the route.

By road from the Wairarapa…

• Travel on State Highway 2 towards Petone and drive to Petone Esplanade.
• Follow signs to Seaview, Eastbourne, or Eastern Bays.

By road from Wellington…

• Join the Wellington Motorway to Petone and Hutt City.
• Exit at the Petone over-ramp and follow signs to Seaview, Eastbourne, or Eastern Bays.

By ferry…

• The East by West (Days Bay) ferry runs every day between Queens Wharf in central Wellington and Days Bay.
• Queens Wharf is a 5-10 minute walk from Te Papa National Museum, Wellington Visitor Information, the CBD, and the cable car to the botanical gardens.

By bus or taxi…

• Cityline buses run regular services between Eastbourne and Wellington city.
• Taxi and shuttle bus are available from the Wellington Airport.
