We had a lovely few days at Jacaranda House - beautiful, peaceful location, yet close to everything you need. The house was lovely with fantastic verandas and great mod cons. Waking up to bird calls instead of traffic can't be underestimated!

A great base for a Brisbane holiday, Jacaranda House is superbly located on a high ridge road that is one of the best addresses in Brookfield, an inner city acreage suburb just 20 minutes from the city centre. It is just a few minutes drive from Kenmore with its shopping villages, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques and supermarkets. Express buses run half-hourly from Kenmore to the city centre.

Set in private and extensive acreage gardens, Jacaranda House is a newly renovated bungalow style house built in the 1960s with three bedrooms with one spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath. The ground floor level is the main living area of the house with living, dining and kitchen areas flowing onto the extensive deck with the main queen bedroom with single bed and also a second double bedroom and bathroom.

The house was built-in underneath some years ago and this lower level has a lesser finish but has a spacious third bedroom that relies on the bathroom upstairs.

Timber floors were newly sanded and polished in July 2016. Quality rugs and artworks are a feature of the house with an open plan kitchen and living area being an effective design. The living and dining rooms open onto an extensive and very wide L-shaped highset deck with fabulous rural views. The deck is perfect for entertaining or just for relaxing with a book. The well appointed living room has a new 50-inch Sharp LED 3D TV and DVD player with an Apple TV with free access to Netflix and Stan.

The living room has an older split system air conditioner and overhead fans. The main bedroom has a queen bed and also a single bed suitable for a child. It also has an overhead fan. The main bedroom queen bed has a Cloud Gen 2" down topper for extra comfort. The main bedroom mattress and double bed ensemble are top of the range Sealys just installed early 2016.

Both ground level bedrooms enjoy great views. The third double bedroom downstairs has a queensize bed and garden views.

A super base to explore Brisbane from with the city just a 20 minute drive away. It is a quiet retreat for country style relaxing. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Westfield Shopping Centre are a short drive away.

The kitchen/laundry is equipped with a range of new equipment including a Eurovox ceramic cooktop, refrigerator, microwave with grill, and brand new front loader washing machine and sensor dryer. This is capped off with a new Miele electronic dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. Cooking options are enhanced by the outdoor barbecue just outside the kitchen on the veranda.

There is ample on site and under cover parking for three cars.

Horses also accommodated by arrangement.

My parents, their two dogs and grandmother stayed here over Christmas. The house was wonderfully located in a peaceful oasis but still close enough to the shops and city. They saw wild deer and were greeted every day by a beautiful horse at the fence. The house was well appointed. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thanks Ulla.

We had a wonderful family catch-up and stay at Jacaranda House. The house is spacious and comfortable with a beautiful wide deck overlooking the extensive grounds. Lots of birdsong in the mornings. Being on a ridge, the deck catches all available breezes. Thanks very much Ulla, for making it so amenable. We hope to return soon.
