Escape to the Mountains

Bluff Knoll's rugged summit dominates the view from the Stirling Range Retreat. Here you can enjoy breathtaking scenery, fresh mountain air and wonderful bush walks.

The Retreat shares a boundary with National Heritage-listed Stirling Range National Park. The mountains in this beautiful national park are rich in exquisite wildflowers during spring but walkers will discover flowering plants at any time of the year. There are 87 species in the Stirling Range that are not found anywhere else.

Scenic drives and day trips can be made to Albany, Porongurup National Park, Wave Rock, Bremer Bay and other beautiful locations.

Peace and quiet abound. This is just the place to experience the magic of a night sky filled with a million stars. In winter, toast marshmallows on the brazier. In summer, enjoy a dip in the pool… and, if you rise early, you can watch the sunrise from the mountain tops!

We assist with weather forecasts and walking information. Bird lists and sketch maps available; wildflower + mountain walking guidebooks for sale. Internet available in office ($2 per 15 minutes).
