Buses at the front door: Bus 445 to Balmain Wharf (15 minutes) and Bus 428 to Circular Quay ferry terminal (30 minutes). Trains: trains from Lewisham station and light rail Lewisham West station. From Illawarra Road the 412 also goes to Circular Quay. The five guest bedrooms can be linked for larger groups or used as three separate apartments. Families accommodated with cots and highchair available on request. An impressive heritage turned blackwood staircase leads you to the modern apartment, Melaleuca. The whole house features high ceilings with some ornate plaster work. |
Petersham was named by Lieutenant-Governor Major Frances Grose after has native village on the Thames, near Richmond, England. Petersham was one of the earliest settlements in the colony and was a separate municipality from 1871 to 1949. The prominent water tower on New Canterbury Road was built in 1915 over the old water reservoir that was commissioned in 1888. |
