Gipsy Point Lodge is a small guesthouse situated at the junction of the Genoa and Wallagaraugh Rivers at the head of Mallacoota Inlet in Victoria. Surrounded by Croajingolong National Park and the waterways, the Lodge has a feeling of remoteness that belies its proximity to Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. The Lodge is in the furthest corner of the renowned East Gippsland wilderness coast and provides a comfortable home base for access to a remarkable diversity of environments of forests, rivers, lakes and coastline. The area is still as nature designed it – unspoiled and famous for its beauty and serenity. The rivers and the inlet are noted for their excellent bream and flathead fishing. The Lodge has seven guest rooms and three self-contained cottages accommodating up to twenty-five guests. Rooms are large and comfortable with queen or twin beds. All guest rooms have ensuites, and are airconditioned. Amenities include a guest lounge, tennis court, a boat launching ramp and jetties, and motor boats for hire for touring the waterways and for fishing. The guesthouse tariff includes a three-course hot dinner and a hot breakfast as well as a packed hamper lunch for guests staying on for another night. Tea and coffee are available from the lounge at all hours. There is a licensed bar for guests’ drinks before and during dinner. In the cooler evenings the open fire in the lounge provides a cosy atmosphere. Our restaurant is recommended by The Age Good Food Guide. The Guesthouse and all indoor areas are non-smoking areas. |
