Cedar Lodge | Creekside Spa Bungalow | Glass Canopy Bungalow |
Nestled in a green wonderland of gushing creeks and subtropical forest, Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is one of the finest wilderness retreats in Australia - it has Australian and international tourism awards to prove it. The breathtaking backdrop is the escarpment of Mt Springbrook, which is part of the World Heritage-listed Springbrook National Park. The retreat itself is a steep chunk of mossy forest, abundantly furnished with creeks, waterfalls and wildlife. | ||
Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is in the beautiful Tweed Valley, home to five World Heritage-listed national parks. The relaxing drive culminates in several wet creek crossings as you wind your way through the rainforest on your final approach. Crafted from glass, steel and timber, each of the seven self-contained bungalows is a work of sensitive architectural design. The Glass Terrace Bungalow is virtually at one with the rainforest that surrounds it. The spacious, open-plan bungalow is contained by glass walls to allow full view of the forest. The Rainforest Canopy bungalows are a split-level design with an oak-panelled ceiling, huge windows and a separate kitchen, while the Creekside Spa bungalows can comfortably accommodate two couples immersed in the rainforest. |
||
The bungalows are totally private - only the local wildlife can peer through the glass-walled bathrooms, each of which has a double-size spa bath adjoining floor-to-ceiling windows, kingsize beds, full kitchen facilities, gas heaters and TV/VCR. The kitchens have four-burner gas cooktops and convection/microwave ovens. There are gas barbecues on the big decks where you can dine with the whipbirds calling from the depths of the forest. A short walk along Crystal Creek takes you to a natural freshwater pool, where you can sit under the waterfall for the best natural massage you'll ever have. Laze around in hammocks suspended above the creek, take a hike along the eight kilometres of private walking tracks that wind through the 100-hectare property then indulge in a soothing massage. Finally, take a refresher course in the art of feeling good! |
