Your CottageBimbimbi is a thousand-hectare grazing property bordering the Condamine River and Greenswamp Road, 20 kilometres southwest of Chinchilla and three hours from Brisbane.

When you step out of your car, the tranquillity of this little valley tucked in against 200 hectares of high ridge wilderness will enfold you.

At last, for the pleasure of the public at large, the Gilligan family's closely guarded secret is out! Previously only available to close friends and family, Little Hollow is available for your exclusive use – or you may stay in the new Bimbimbi Homestead.

Settle into the 90-year-old homestead, a pioneering atmosphere blended with all the comforts of home. When rested, explore the wilderness or just laze and watch the Hereford cows and calves graze. It's your choice.
Experience…
  • Working Life on the Land: seasonal cattle work – branding, drafting and trucking to market.
  • Life in the Bush: Catch a glimpse of red-necked wallabies, kangaroos, goanna, a wide variety of birdlife, echidnas and, maybe, wild turkeys, koalas or a marsupial mouse.
  • Return to the Jurassic Age and pick up wood 140–180 million years old. Chinchilla is recognised as one of the largest areas of petrified wood in the world.
  • Enjoy the Wildflowers (July-September): wattles, wonga vine, hova scrub, hop bush and the panorama of bottle trees.
  • Local Historic Attractions: Visit local sights including the museums in Chinchilla and Miles.

Farmstays are not motels with a receptionist waiting to book guests in. It is important for guests and also for us that contact prior to arrival is made; otherwise you maybe find yourselves waiting at a locked gate!

Arriving at: Bimbimbi & Little Hollow
Booked in and ready for a peaceful and relaxed stay in the country?
Farmstays are usually in, or near the main homestead or again situated on a block away from the main house. Little Hollow is situated several kilometres from Bimbimbi and therefore, you will need to be in contact with us prior to your arrival.
• Brian and Shirley will need to know your approximate time of arrival. Please inform us of your approximate arrival time on the morning before you leave.
• When you arrive in Chinchilla (travelling from the east) or Miles (travelling from the west) ring us on 07 4665 8289 if you are booked into Bimbimbi
or if you are booked into Little Hollow please ring us on 07 4662 7877 if you have previously informed us of your approximate arrival time. We will be waiting for your call at Little Hollow to direct you to your destination.
If your arrival time changes or if you are out of range please try to inform us. Try both numbers when you arrive at Chinchilla or Miles as we may have returned home; then we will arrange to meet you on Greenswamp Road to settle you into Little Hollow.
