Queenscliff marks the beginning or the end of the Great Ocean Road and lies close to the entry to Port Phillip Bay. Travelling by car it is approximately 90-minutes drive from Melbourne via Geelong. Queenscliff can also be reached via the car/passenger ferry from Sorrento. Queenscliff is one of the most popular spots in Victoria. The fine old buildings and monuments in and around the town are reminders of its romantic and colourful maritime past. You can enjoy Queenscliff and the surrounding region in all seasons. Attractions include great golf courses, walks and bike rides – Port Nepean National Park, the 'Walk It, Joy It, Ride It' Rail Trail to name some. There is also a restored steam train ride from Queenscliff to Drysdale. Close by are historic Fort Queenscliff, wineries, fishing and diving charters, local markets, museums, galleries and bookshops. |
