Bedroom Kitchen Merrigum Cottage

Merrigum is a quaint self-contained farm cottage (c1903) restored to provide today’s comforts in harmony with its Australian heritage.

Our cattle grazing property is centrally located in the Yarra Valley giving visitors an ideal base from which to explore the many significant attractions of this beautiful area within a short drive.

The cottage provides the restful beauty of an open fire, the calming relaxation of a deep twin spa bath and the chance to savour beautiful days in a private country garden – perhaps observing water birds exploring the dam, listening to the mimicry and chatter of native birds circling overhead or simply enjoying a glass of wine taking in an ever-changing mountain view.

If winding down is all you are looking for – you will find Merrigum perfect!

The cottage is furnished with collectables that embrace its heritage background. The two bedrooms – one queensize, one twin (two single beds) - are tastefully decorated and amply supplied with bedding for all seasons – winter or summer.

The lounge is furnished with a comfortable three-piece suite and equipped with television, DVD player, CD player/radio and reverse-cycle air-conditioner.

The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave oven, electric kettle and toaster plus cooking utensils and full range of cookware, glassware and crockery. A gas barbecue under cover provides convenient outdoor cooking. A wood-fired barbecue beside the dam gives the outdoor person a different cooking choice.

Depending on your needs and the package you choose, breakfast ingredients are supplied for you to prepare in the kitchen at your leisure.

Local wineries, several hotels and cafes offer a range of dining-out options. Take-away venues offer a leisurely dining-in option.
