Mission Beach accommodation at its best! Licuala Lodge is set in the peaceful and tranquil township of Mission Beach, Queensland – closest mainland point to the Great Barrier Reef. The lodge is a Queenslander timber pole style home set in one hectare of rainforest, only 1.5km from the beach. We have a fabulous waterfall swimming pool with beach entry – it has got to be the best in the area (probably). Guest accommodation is separate from the main house, overlooking lush tropical gardens, and we serve the yummiest brekky in all Queensland. Brekky is served on the upper veranda of the main house – eat as much as you can manage – cereal, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, toast, jams, honey, muffins, cheese, salami, real 100% orange juice, tea, coffee. Sometimes Sue (the head chef) makes pancakes with maple syrup – you lucky people. And if you fancy a hot breakfast then try our 'Full Monty' – eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, tomotoes and mushrooms – for the princely sum of AU$10– what a bargain! We offer complimentary drinks – tea, coffee, soft drinks and beer. Wow, how good is that! In the large guest lounge there is a TV, DVD, loads of books and games. Also available are a microwave, hot plate and BBQ for those wishing to self-cater. Laundry facilities are here for those desperate to do some washing. For the energetic, a couple of bikes are in the tool shed at your disposal. If you fancy a go on the ride-on mower, then feel free. And if you really can't bear to be away from the computer, then access to the wireless internet is here at Licuala Lodge. For all you gardeners, if you fancy a cutting then just ask Mick the head gardener – he will oblige. One of the great attractions here at the Lodge, is that it is so peaceful and tranquil – no airport noise, no traffic noise… ahhhh, bliss! Just the sounds of the rainforest. What more could you want? OK, a cup of tea or coffee and a few biscuits on arrival – yes, we can do that! |
